Community Health Clubs kick off in Namibia

Within the CuveWaters project, 28 participants were trained to become multipliers for „Community Health Clubs“ from February 27th till March 2nd 2012. ISOE implemented the session together with the organisation ‚Africa AHEAD‘, which had developed the training approach. Community Health Clubs work together with the local population to avoid health risks over the long term. Club members discuss different topics in weekly meetings, from hygienic food storage to the use of sanitary facilities. The trained multipliers will be mobilising inhabitants of Outapi in northern Namibia for the clubs during the coming weeks. Community Health Clubs are accompanying sewage treatment plants which are being built in cooperation with the Technical University Darmstadt and Roediger Vacuum within the sanitation subproject.
