CuveWaters Floodwater Harvesting plant in Iipopo

CuveWaters is delighted to announce that on Monday the 13th of April 2015 the Floodwater Harvesting plant will be officially handed over to the community of Iipopo. The handing over ceremony will take place directly at the pilot site and will be carried out by the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Namibia, as well as representatives of CuveWaters and its Namibian research partners. Relaunch of the CuveWaters Website

We are delighted to announce the relaunch of the CuveWaters website! The website has been redesigned to improve user friendliness and appeal. CuveWaters Mid-Term Review Workshop held in Windhoek

CuveWaters project partners met on 23rd October 2014 in Windhoek for the Mid-Term Review Workshop. The primary purpose of the workshop was to set a framework for Namibia’s independent operation of the three technologies - desalination, rain- and floodwater harvesting as well as sanitation and water reuse. The mid-term review took a view back over the past twelve months and a forward view to the envisaged end of the project in September 2015. Spanish film crew at CuveWaters project sites

Currently, a Spanish film crew is visiting Northern Namibia to a prepare a TV report for TeleSUR TV, a Latin American TV broadcasting from Chile to Mexico. They intend to give a general view of the climatic situation in Namibia and how the population is coping with it as well as how important is the water to maintain culture. CuveWaters is very happy about the visit of the journalists to the rain- and floodwater harvesting sites in Ongwediva (UNAM), Epyeshona and Iipopo. They spend time talking to the communities about their experiences with the innovative technologies. [more]
