Decision maker tour to Outapi was fully booked
In the past years the Outapi Town Council (OTC) has implemented a unique sanitation project in its fast growing town in order to be able to tackle future challenges. These challenges comprise the provision of sanitation and a clean environment for all its inhabitants. Certificates handed over
On 5th of June 2015 the certificates for the successful graduates of the training on „Extension Services in Horticulture and Irrigation with special reference to Rainwater Harvesting” were handed over. Altogether seven trainees finished the training successfully. Of the seven trainees two are working for UNAM Ogongo Agricultural campus, two for MAWF Oshikoto, two for the Rural Development Center in Ongwediva and one for the Rural Development Center in Okashana.

Open Day and Handing over of Certificates
In CuveWaters, facilities for rainwater harvesting have been piloted in the village of Epyeshona, near Oshakati, since 2009. During the short rainy season, rainwater is harvested on rooftops and concrete surfaces and then stored in tanks made of different materials. The harvested water is of fairly good quality and is mainly intended for gardening purposes, but can also be used for washing, cooking or watering livestock. Train the Trainer – Horticulture course has started
With regard to our news from the 20th of March, we would like to update that the Horticulture Training has started on the 16th of April (and will end on the 5th of June). The training takes place every week on Thursdays and Fridays at the Rainwater Harvesting and Irrigation Field Laboratory at UNAM Ongwediva and in total 9 participants are on site. They are from the Rural Development Center Ongwediva, the Rural Development Center in Okashana, the UNAM Ogongo Agricultural Campus as well as from the MAWF DAPEES. Handing over the Rainwater Harvesting plant in Ongwediva
The handing over ceremony in Ongwediva on the 14th of April was just as joyous as the ceremony in Iipopo, which took place a day before. The official handing over and inauguration started in the morning at the rainwater harvesting facility – Onno Hückmann, the German ambassador, personally handed over to Prof. Dr. Frank Kavishe of UNAM Engineer Jose Eduardo dos Santos Campus Ongwediva.
